TEAM MANAGERS AT POWER

Thank you for volunteering to be a Team Manager this season. We appreciate everything you do for our club!

As a team manager you are the point of contact between the players/parents and the coach, as well as the club. You will feed club information through to your team and pass any questions back onto the club.

We ask that team managers are active in communications and keep up to date with club news and events.

Working with Children’s Check

As a trusted adult at POWER, we require all team managers to send a copy of their WWCC to the club. Email to parkorchardsnc@gmail.com

TASKS OF A TEAM MANAGER

Weekly Team Messages
Please send out weekly correspondence with the following game day details

Warm up time & location:
Game time:
Court:
Captain & scoring family:
Opposition:
**Please note - home teams are expected to sweep the indoor courts before the game, and ‘squeegee’ outdoor courts if it’s been raining. Squeegees can be found in the shed opposite court 8

Weekly player attendance
Team managers are responsible for marking player attendance each week through the netball connect app
Please ensure fill ins are correctly reflected on the score sheet

Organise a captain & scoring roster
Organise a captains/scoring roster, and communicate this with players and parents via agreed method (eg Whatsapp, text, email). It helps to ask parents upfront for player unavailability during the season prior to creating a roster. Whilst U9’s don’t have scores displayed at the games, they are used for grading purposes, so accurate scores still need to be kept on the scoresheet.

End of season
Organise a gift for the coach at the end of each season. Most families choose to put in about $10 each.
Organise an end of season team social catch up (optional)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Issues/concerns during a game
On very rare occasions, behaviour towards players, umpires, coaches or other spectators may require intervention. Please see the MENA office and they’ll come and observe. If you would like to make a complaint against another team or person for a serious incident, please address it to the club and we will forward it to MENA.

Injury during games
Please see the front desk if a player in your team requires assistance with a more serious injury. A first aider from Maroondah Council will be there to provide this service. It is important to document the via the QR code provided by MENA and with council, in case the player chooses to make a claim through their Netball Vic insurance. The council front desk staff will call an ambulance if required.
Ice - Ice can be supplied by the front desk. Once ice has been applied, it is often recommended that the player does not return to court due to risk of further injury. However this is flexible depending on severity of the injury and can be judged by the Maroondah Council First Aider.
Concussion - we follow NV Concussion protocols. Any player who has a suspected concussion may NOT return to the game/training. Please encourage the parent to take the player to a Doctor ASAP. If concussion is confirmed, we require a medical clearance before the player can return to training and games. Minimum recommended time is 14 days (training) and 21 days (games). https://vic.netball.com.au/concussion-policy
